- This partnership between the Lassonde School of Engineering and the Centre for Human Rights, Equity, and Inclusion at York University provides event planners with the resources for evaluating and executing inclusive events.
- Canadian Hearing Services website is a great resource for assisting with education, outreach and the coordination/hiring of ASL interpreters. Their website offers valuable resources, and educational information for those within the Deaf and hard of hearing community.
CHS – Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART)
- This program, provided by the Canadian Hearing Society, provides information regarding the Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) processes, operation, and on-site and remote CART services.
Ontario Association of Sign Language Interpreters
- Provides helpful tips and videos regarding how to book and hire sign language interpreters.
Free-Lance ASL Interpreters
- Rates for freelance interpreters vary based on individual and event and can range (note: if event is being recorded, rates are subject to change).
- The Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion Fund provides up to $500.00 dollars for services costs which contribute to overall inclusion and accessibility (example: ASL Interpretation, Real Time Captioning Costs, printing costs, av costs). Funding proposals can be submitted at any time.
York University Accessibility Fund
- A York University award established to assist with support event accessibility across campus.
